If you think you are sexy, then damn it, you are sexy.

me versus my moms opinion about me ):

I don’t understand things like this. Are people really surrounded by people telling them to stop what they are doing and do things another way when it comes to how they look? Cause surely you should tell people like that to suck a fuck and get out of your life? Or at the very least, if you’re identifying with this image, you realise that their opinions don’t really count and live your life free of worrying about their noise?

It’s always these pictures of women with :/ faces being like UGH I’m totes getting oppressed! but I don’t know who that is meant to be.

Is this what modern feminism is? Cause it looks lame and kind of boring and I do not identify with it. Complaining that people can be kind of passive aggressive and tell you to ‘do something with your hair’?

And this image isn’t even about sexiness but then the ‘moral of the story’ is?

Get over it.

I like what you said about modern feminism. However, I have heard people say this, either to me or to other people, and it still can sting, but one does “get over it.” I’m pretty sure the large majority of people who talk this way to young women are grandmothers. I suppose it can be very hard for people and a lot of people would benefit from the image above. Rates of learning, awareness, self-confidence, etc. It’s all different, it’s all valid.

Then again, I don’t like all the responses from the women in the picture. If it’s meant to be some kind of story-line, like: I don’t like my hair long, so I’ll cut it off, and so on, then why are all the “weak, thin” women another person, and why is the woman with the short hair repeated over and over as the self-confident woman?

I feel like the image is saying: long-haired women = weakness. As someone who has had really short hair and quite long hair, I know for a fact that “new hair” confidence only lasts for a little while and then, short or long, it’s all you, kid.
